Gothic couture and my favorite Fangirl

A little while back I got the sweetest, unexpected gift
in the mail from my #1 Fangirl and very dear friend Lynn. Wanna see?
Isn't it gorgeous!
I was drooling over this ring (OK I drool over all of Mykas art and jewelry)
But this one I just love and my sweetie Lynn was obviously stalking paying attention and she spoiled me.
You can see more of  Myka Jelinas fantasy art here she is one of my favorite fantasy artists.
Gothic couture is the painting this is from, I just love Belladonnas face.
and well I had to do my nails to compliment her so I made these two polishes to suit Belladonna.
The purple is a wine base with teal shift which makes it look purple on the nail and the teal has a sweet pink shift which I did not get a decent picture of either shift.
Both almost came off as holos in certain light
and pretty shimmery goodness in other
I'm thinking I should name them
You can see a bit of the base better
Sparkly

and then the blue/teal shift...almost metallic

see the blue flecks in the teal

 macro to show the pretties
one more peek and Belladonna and huge hugs and kisses to Lynn...I love you doll!

Duochrome Franken pretties

I needed a purple with a blue/aqua shift so I made one with pigment and tkb's crappy base

and I made a layering shifty shimmer thing color too which I used just on my ring fingers

Love, love, love the color but the base is such a mess that it was really hard to get even coverage
See the pretty shift
On my ring finger you can see the pink and aqua shimmer
Not loving the ring finger but the rest is a happy color
I might start carrying some franken pigments on my site for those who want to play without the extreme error factor. Still thinking about it.
Duochrome loves

Duochrome duo anyone?

After my franken failed at showing it's duochrome I needed my duochrome fix
Good old Nubar to the rescue
I used Nubar Indigo Illusion with an accent nail of an old Nubar Shock in Iris Dust
Oh yeah that's what I'm talkin' about
Indigo Illusion is more of a pale blue teal with a lilac shimmering duochrome
Iris dust is a gorgeous wine with a bronze to pink duochrome
I love these so much as you can see by the less than full bottles
Say it with me....Yummy
I feel better now

Zoya Sunshine & Summertime - Faye

Zoya...you made this one just for me didn't you?
Faye is a beautiful gilded purple with metallic sparks of copper and gold that shifts like crazy
This is 3 coats of nom
The formula is slightly thin but very easy to work with and very forgiving
Faye is a moody girl and she might be leaning toward a multiple personality, judging by her constantly
switching from soft and girly mauvey with copper shimmer to her bold purple base with exploding golden sparkle and then to a brownish shade with purple glint and gold and copper metal sparks.
This is a must have x100....trust me you need it!

Zoya Sunshine & Summertime - Rica

This one is from the Sunshine half of the Zoya Sunshine & Summertime collection.
The Sunshine set is 6 shimmery metallics
Zoya describes Rica as a shimmering Rose metallic
On me Rica is a metallic coral with strong orange to pink shift
See the pink/coral with the orange sparking through
This is not the best color for my skin but I'm going to wear it anyway because it's fab
Liquid Summer
So many beautiful colors in this one
this one shows more the "rose" tone
The last 3 pics are in shade
I used 3 coats and could have stopped at 2 but I'm special that way & I just wanted to see 3
Application was smooth and even with no issues to speak of.
I love the Sunshine set so much!

OPI Katy Perry part 1 Swatches and review

I know it's a small collection but I'm doing this in 2 parts because
I really like the colors and so traditional swatching isn't going to work when I really want to just do a full manicure and enjoy them.

So on to the pretties...
Not like the Movies is a pale purple to gray to green multi chrome with silver scattered shimmer
This is 2 coats with top coat in lightbox lighting
The formula is good slightly sheer but not bad.
I love the very obvious flashes in this one

Last Friday Night is a blue jelly base with multi blue chunky glitter
This is 2 coats except on the pinky which is 1 coat layered over a random franken
(Looooook at those sparklies)

The formula is great on this and I love that the base actually hold it's color so you can easily wear it alone.
It's not so chunky that you get gravel nail, one coat of Seche Vite and I could not feel andy bumps at all.
I think this is my new favorite glitter!
