I recieved the Color club Dark Romance mini set from Color Club for review and I had a chance to quickly swatch these tonight.
Isn't it adorable! I love the packaging.
It comes with a matte top coat, Alabaster, Smoke and mirrors and Dark Romance.
These are all matte so I was a little confused by the inculsion of a matte top coat at first.
Then after swatching I think it's a great idea.
Dark Romance is a beautiful satiny black matte with almost a rubber texture to it which I found very cool.
This is 2 coats with no top coat. These are a little slower to dry than most mattes so they are more forgiving in application. Also they are slightly satin, not flat or chalky matte.
Smoke and mirrors is a matte metallic silver. I love this!
This is one coat over Dark Romance. If you wore it alone I think you would need two coats.
I love the sparkly yet matte look of this one!
Alabaster is streaky on the first coat but the second smooths out nicely for a matte white.
As with Dark Romance, Alabaster has a slightly satin finish which I really like for the white.
I added a coat of the Color Club matte top coat and Alabaster turned to a completely flat matte.
So I like that you have an option with these. If you like the satin matte leave it as is or if you want a super flat matte add a coat of the matte top coat. You can also use it over and regular polish to mattify.
I think the application is easier with these than I've found with most other Matte polishes.
So YAY Color Club, you did a great job with some sexy mattes!
What do you think? Which matte do you like? Flat, satin or no matte at all?
