Evil Shades LE nail polish Rainbow in the dark

I promised when I discontinued my Evil Shades nail polish that I would have
Limited Edition polishes from time to time. Well TIME!
I've been working on this one for a while and it finally came together for me. Yes!

This one is actually very near and dear to my heart and is not only an LE but more importantly a tribute
to one of my life long musical influences, Mr. Ronnie James Dio. My Daddy introduced me to Dio via Elf and Black Sabbath and then together we listened through decades of Dio, wearing out many a vinyl LP and a few CD's. My Dad used to play one song in particular for me "Rainbow in the dark".
This became my hope song and to this day it can easily lift my spirits. I demanded that it be played at my Daddy's funeral because it truly suited him. No matter how shitty your day my Daddy could make you laugh till you wee'd, usually by singing some ridiculous made up song, very badly, loud and off key!
I know it maybe odd to tribute someone via nail polish but hey I am odd
and my cosmetics are my creative outlet. I hate the idea of waiting until someone has passed to pay tribute. I know that Dio will never know about my little tribute but I will and I'll always have my bottle of polish to remind me.

Rainbow in the dark is a semi sheer black base with, you guessed it, a mega
shit ton of rainbow shimmer that burst from the darkness. Why did I make it semi sheer? First to allow the rainbow to shine through and secondly because I love to layer. Now this is totaly opaque in 3 coats so it can easily be worn alone as well. The "rainbow" really errupts out of the darkness of the black base in bursts of red, blue, green, purple, silver, pink and a touch of yellow/gold.

What do you think?

Ronnie James Dio is one of my heroes.
I think it's appropriate to use nail polish as a tribute and I think RJD would actually be touched and honored. He loves his fans and has always been amazing to them.
I think he will beat cancer and be back stronger than ever!

  15. Wonderful tribute to your Dad. I think it's wonderful to have a song that makes you happy and brings back memories of your Dad. Music was and is very important in my life. There were many songs that reminded me of my Mom. I would break down in tears years after her death. Music really evokes strong emotions. Your tribute polish is fabulous. Love the glimmer of different colors.
