Best Nail Treatment - Review and swatches

I was contacted a while back by Lynn, the lovely owner of  BNT
about trying her line of nail products and after my drooling and wavering due to the beautiful selection of nail colors I finally picked a couple and I have been testing these in a serious way!
You can check out the shades here
Left to right: Air Cure system Base coat, Grape Crush, French Twist and Air Cure System fast dry Top Coat
Now I am going to let you in on a tiny bit of info that prompted my need for thorough testing...
Lynn worked for the original Poshe company and was a part of the creation of the beloved Poshe top coat that so many love. Unfortunately the company was sold to a competitor (which I'd bet is why Poshe TC formula changed) Lynn opened Best Nail Treatments using her own formulas. So BNT is a Woman owned company that has an environment conscience. Read more about them here. I personally am impressed and love the mission statement.
(Day 1)
This is 2 coats of Grape Crush with one coat of French twist on the tips of index and ring fingers and over entire nail on middle and pinky, because I can do it like that! :o)
(Day 3)
Grape Crush is a beautiful neon fuchsia purple jelly...but it's so well pigmented that there is (as you can see) no visible nail line with 2 coats. How wonderful is that!
(Day 5)
French twist is along the lines of the cnd effects in that it is a sheer pink sparkling shimmer intended for layering.
I did notice that (at least for me) this applied much more evenly and stronger than my cnd's
(Day 5)
Super Macro shows the gorgeous sparkle of French Twist and the opacity yet jelly squish of Grape Crush

Now the full review-

Base coat- Dries very fast slightly sticky finish (for adhesion), application was very nice, not runny or goopy.

Colors- Very nice formula, the brush is the normal round fan brush, spreads well, very even coverage, great pigmentation, smooth and very easy to work with.

Top Coat- This was the big test with me as I have 2 bottles of the old (original good) Poshe top coat and 1 bottle of the sucktastick newer formula and one of what Poshe said was their return to the old formula. Personally the 2 later formulas, to me, are about the same. I do not like them, they don't dry fast at all!
So I tested the BNT Top coat against the original Poshe top coat. Application is about the same, both apply smoothly and evenly, the brushes are identical for all I can tell. Now here is I was surprised and rather pleased the BNT Top Coat was dry...I mean I can go wash my hair, fold laundry dry in 5 minutes flat....I tested this 6 times on different brands of polish! Original Poshe was dry to the touch in about 6 minutes but not "solid" dry for another 7-10 minutes which is still fast but not as fast. So this prompted me to test it against my forever beloved Seche Vite.....needless to say Seche it's been a lovely many years but I'm leaving you for a new love! I have broken up with Seche and Best Nail Treatments is my new HG fast dry top coat!
I kid you not!

Now the last part I'm not sure which to credit but the above manicure, note the "day" notes below each picture...see anything unusual? 5 days of perfect no budge wear, not a chip, no tip wear....as perfect on day 5 as on day 1! I washed dishes, mixed colors, filled orders, labeled, packed orders, cleaned house, showered, did laundry, went swimming 4 times, took 3 bubble baths, worked out and chased 3 kids.
Color me impressed, very impressed! I'm not sure if it's due to the adhesion of the base coat, the quality of the colored polish or the strength of the top coat or all of the above, but whatever the magic is....I need more!

I have another color from Best that I will show you later but it is so pretty, you will love it too!

All opinions are my own, based on my experience and personal knowledge.

What does EvilAngel do when she breaks a nail?

She says several very bad words! (not because of the broken nail but cuz it hurt)
My car door handle attacked me yesterday...
When I break a nail....I do it right! lol
And of coarse I do it before I get pictures of the pretty new franken!
So what now? I file like a mad woman!
So now I will be sporting my new nubbins...aren't they teeny and cute!
I made another in my neon flakie franken series...GREEN!
I added aqua shimmer which kind of killed the jellyness, but I love it anyway
I used gold flakies in this one
Sadly I have no sun to get good pictures showing the flakies off
I might add more clear to re jellify this. She needs a name...Feline, she needs a Swedish name! :o)

Nicole's Heart Franken

As promised I made a fun Neon orange jelly with flakies franken
And named it after my dear friend Nicole (from nightly Nails blog) because it reminds me of her...
warm, beautiful, happy and far more interesting and complex than some plain old orange!
(I love you Nicole & you better email me your addy so I can send you one of these)
This girl is so hot I wore it for 4 days
Yes I took 6 billion pictures of it
I added warm and cool flakies to make it more wearable for me
Pink and yellow/golden flakies....drooooool
This is an orange I truly love, even on me!
Oh I am going to wear the crap out of this franken!

Flaked out Neon franken

I got a sudden urge the other day for a Neon pink jelly with flakies so....
This is in lightbox lighting which killed the neon a bit
Mmmmmm.....flakies
Pardon my horribly dry paws....someone has been busy and forgets to lotion the parched puppies
I think I love this color...might make some different colored neon flakies....hmmm
The flakies show even more in real life and they look like they are suspended in a sea of pink neon jelly
This is the most accurate as far as the neon pink goes but it doesn't show the flakies well
What do you think I should name her? Should I make more like her in different neon colors?

Making Lem-on aid!

OK the titles lame but the polish is hot!
Color Club Get your Lem-on from the Wicked Sweet collection (Lemon scented nom)
This is 3 coats of neon perfection!
The subtle green shift from the green shimmer makes this color fantabulous!
I added some cute little Skully kitty Angels and Devils to me this up a bit
And one lone buggerfly because my pinkie nail is way too narrow for most nail decals
This applies like a $20 polish and the fact that retail these are around $3 makes me love it even more
The scent is strong enough to smell through top coat but not overpowering.
I cannot say enough how much I adore Color Clubs Neon's. The contrasting shimmers make them so much more interesting than your standard neon.

Neon, skulls and crackle

I needed a fun manicure after all the stress so...
Color Club The Lime Starts here to the rescue
Then I used my SmArt nails skull & crossbones stencils with China Glaze Broken Hearted Crackle
The skulls did not quite work as well as I'd hoped with the crackle but I still like it
This is 3 coats of The Lime Starts here and it smells so yum
The scent isn't overpowering but enough that when you scratch your nose you remember you have lime scented nails. lol
Broken Hearted is very opaque and dries very quick so for nail art it works great.
This was a nice bright and cheery manicure to get me through the end of a tough week!

Color Club Wicked Sweet - Temptress

I did a bright fun manicure with Raspberry Rush (Wicked Sweet collection)
and Ultra - Astral (Temptress collection)
This is 3 coats of Raspberry Rush and 2 coats of Ultra- Astral on my ring finger with one coat of Starry Temptress.
Raspberry Rush is a gorgeous almost jelly neon fuchsia
Ultra Astral is Neon fuchsia with holo glitter that unfortunately disappears into the polish on the nail, which is why I used Starry Temptress top coat which is a great clear holo top coat.
I love how this turned out

I am hoping the rest of the Temptress work better.
Raspberry Rush smell yummy but not overpowering.

Color Club Wicked Sweet scented Collection- I always Get My Man-Darine

I love fruity scented things but Orange is my enemy color....
unless it is a Color Club neon!
Warm colors look horrid on me...but Color Club is the one company that takes
pity on people like me! They are genius at adding a contrasting shimmer that makes it less
painful to wear these warm sunny shades!
Man-darin is hard to capture in pictures (neon is evil on camera) but it is a
sweet juicy tangerine/Mandarin with a beautiful green shimmer
It smells like fruit loops for the first few hours and then calms down to a soft sweet Mandarin scent
The formula is great, smooth and easy to apply though I will never love the skinny CC brush it is worth
the split second of extra work for the fun and funky shades!
Orange is still not my best color but I dismissed my crazy red fingers for this pretty!

Zoya Mod Mattes with top coat - summer 2011 swatches

A few people have requested to see the Zoya Mod Mattes with top coat so I did some very quick skittles with Poshe top coat. I hope this helps!
Top to bottom: Lolly, Phoebe & Mitzi
Lolly, Phoebe & Mitzi all with one coat of Poshe'
I think these 3 girls are fabulous matte or shiny
Please pardon my parched paws....I've been working a lot and forgetting my lotion.

Zoya Mod Mattes Summer 2011- swatches & review

Zoya....have you been reading my mind?
Bright, bold, sassy and matte!
Phoebe & Mitzi
Phoebe- Sky blue with a teal shimmer that makes this gorgeous glowy matte look like matte teal sky
Mitzi- Neon lime green matte that just feels like fun in a bottle
I love these two and I love them even more together
Phoebe applies so perfectly, not like most mattes, smooth and even.
Mitzi applies like most mattes, fast and a little uneven but smooths well on the second coat.
This is my new "Happy" manicure!
Are you smiling yet?!
Lolly....oh Lolly, you are so pretty!
Lolly- A bright nearly neon Barbie Pink!
Unfortunately my antibiotics are making my skin mega oily so this looks very satin but it is very matte
I love this color and I love that it's matte
Zoya I could kiss you right on the lips for this Limited Edition collection!
*Muah*
You want these don't you.....you'll have to hop over to http://www.zoya.com/ I might have to buy a backup set!
