Bad Blogger Posts Franken polish

I have been so busy between work (ES is growing very quickly) and taking
care of the family and hubbys tons of doctors appointments I've barely had time to do my nails let alone post.
I would love to say I will do better but honestly I can't promise anything until I get
everything reorganized so I have a bit of time. And my hands have suffered from washing them a billion times and wearing gloves for 6 - 10 hours a day so pardon my sad paws.

Anyway I have pictures of a little franken I made with a green mica, pink sparkles
and clear nail polish. It turned out a pretty soft green with gold and pink shimmer.
Oh and I filed my nails down due to my extreme lack of time
It turned out a bit lighter than I wanted but I still like it
Shimmah!
No sunshine is the theme around here lately
I've been using a cheap clear I picked up at the beauty supply and it works very well
There you have it....I wore this for a week without a single chip.
I will try to pop on later and schedule a couple of posts for this week.
Smooches

Duochrome Franken pretties

I needed a purple with a blue/aqua shift so I made one with pigment and tkb's crappy base

and I made a layering shifty shimmer thing color too which I used just on my ring fingers

Love, love, love the color but the base is such a mess that it was really hard to get even coverage
See the pretty shift
On my ring finger you can see the pink and aqua shimmer
Not loving the ring finger but the rest is a happy color
I might start carrying some franken pigments on my site for those who want to play without the extreme error factor. Still thinking about it.
Duochrome loves

Franken Toesies

I made a couple of frankens the other day and I did my Toes with one
It's a sweet baby blue with a great pink shift that obviously does not show on camera
I didn't take any macro shot because ummmm....they are feet and do you really want to see my toes THAT close? Yeah I didn't think so.
I made this with the TKB glamour base and pigment and honestly I love the color but the bases kind of suck as far as formula. They are thick and goopy and thinner does little to help so I think I'll stick to using a cheap clear and just shake the crap out of it. lol

Flaked out Neon franken

I got a sudden urge the other day for a Neon pink jelly with flakies so....
This is in lightbox lighting which killed the neon a bit
Mmmmmm.....flakies
Pardon my horribly dry paws....someone has been busy and forgets to lotion the parched puppies
I think I love this color...might make some different colored neon flakies....hmmm
The flakies show even more in real life and they look like they are suspended in a sea of pink neon jelly
This is the most accurate as far as the neon pink goes but it doesn't show the flakies well
What do you think I should name her? Should I make more like her in different neon colors?

Blue/Teal/Purple Duochrome Holo?

My creativity level has skyrocketed as of late, so I decided to do a little frankening.
This is going to be insane picture heavy so get comfy...grab a snack and go pee!

The Hot Guy (aka my Hubby) named this one Nightmare.
Not because he didn't like it but because it reminds him of the beautiful cover art on/in
Avenged Sevenfold's Nightmare. The teal, smokey blues I think is what he saw.

Well I've never seen a duochrome holo so I challenged myself & Nightmare is the love child of that challange. A Blue with deep Teal flash and a very hard to catch Purple flash that happens to be holographic.
I had no sun today so I did my best to capture my beautiful Nightmare and these pictures do not even closely do it justice!

Welcome to my Nightmare

This is color accurate of the base

A tiny peek of teal

A better shot of the teal at the tips

Bottle picture that shows the duochrome but not the holo. Grrrrrr

Some holo and a little fuzzy on my ring finger
*note to self do not fold laundry prior to macro pics*

a little better holo

A little holo with teal flash around the inner edges

More holo with teal flash at top

Are you tired of looking?

sweet holo shot
I warned you!

Last one, you survived!

What is your dream polish that they say can't be done?

What do you get when you cross Baby pink nail polish and Spiders?

You get my Konad of the day! :)
I decided to franken a Baby Pink nail polish after seeing a post from Siobhan on MUA.
She still inspires me! So I grabbed an empty bottle (yes I save them) and added 1/2 a bottle of clear, then a little more than 1/3 of cheap white french tip white and then added about 5 drops of Orly Sterling Silver Rose, ballz and shake it. Tadda...perfect baby pink!
I Stamped my perfectly sweet pink mani using Wet n wild black and Konad image plate m28
and Hot topic fauxnad plate and Color Club Revvvolution.

I call it Spider Love!

See even Baby Pink can be evil! :D

Halloween bling and cosmetic recipe

I have to share this lovely Franken from the amazingly talented wixbetty of Wixology blog.
She made me this blingy Halloween glitter a couple of months ago and have been dying to try it.
It's a clear base with a ton of orange glitter and two sizes of silvery lilac hex glitter.

I love this! Thank You wixbetty!

Now for some DIY fun!
This is a recipe for a cosmetic fixative (aka mixing medium).
I suppose I could package and sell this but I think that is just greedy and bad buisness, so instead
I want to share it with my Lovies.
This can be used in so many ways: as a spray to give the dewy look,
as a mixing medium to foil your eye shadow, misted on your makeup brush to help your eye shadow
"stick" better, or as an after shower light moisture.

You will need:
A small 4oz spray or squirty bottle
measuring spoons
a funnel if you are at all clumsy(me)
Distilled water
Glycerine (you can get this at any drug store, Walmart, target etc.)
Vitamin E

in your bottle mix 3 Tablespoons Glycerin to 6 Tablespoons Distilled water
add 1/8 teaspoon Vitamin E
Close, shake and you are set!
You can use rose water if you like, I do not as I find it to be a little oily and can cause smearing.

See why I think it's crappy to package and sell this?
It costs less than $1 to make a 4oz bottle and companies charge between $8 and $30 for this.

Good Lovies! xoxox
