Evil Shades LE nail polish Rainbow in the dark

I promised when I discontinued my Evil Shades nail polish that I would have
Limited Edition polishes from time to time. Well TIME!
I've been working on this one for a while and it finally came together for me. Yes!

This one is actually very near and dear to my heart and is not only an LE but more importantly a tribute
to one of my life long musical influences, Mr. Ronnie James Dio. My Daddy introduced me to Dio via Elf and Black Sabbath and then together we listened through decades of Dio, wearing out many a vinyl LP and a few CD's. My Dad used to play one song in particular for me "Rainbow in the dark".
This became my hope song and to this day it can easily lift my spirits. I demanded that it be played at my Daddy's funeral because it truly suited him. No matter how shitty your day my Daddy could make you laugh till you wee'd, usually by singing some ridiculous made up song, very badly, loud and off key!
I know it maybe odd to tribute someone via nail polish but hey I am odd
and my cosmetics are my creative outlet. I hate the idea of waiting until someone has passed to pay tribute. I know that Dio will never know about my little tribute but I will and I'll always have my bottle of polish to remind me.

Rainbow in the dark is a semi sheer black base with, you guessed it, a mega
shit ton of rainbow shimmer that burst from the darkness. Why did I make it semi sheer? First to allow the rainbow to shine through and secondly because I love to layer. Now this is totaly opaque in 3 coats so it can easily be worn alone as well. The "rainbow" really errupts out of the darkness of the black base in bursts of red, blue, green, purple, silver, pink and a touch of yellow/gold.

What do you think?

Polished Lyrics first Giveaway!

My dear friend Jess is having her first giveaway over at Polished Lyrics

Three Sally Hansen HD nail polishes!
If you haven't checked out her blog, you should. She is a total doll and her blog has great swatches with musical quotes, her kitty Orton and her general sweetness!

My nails are on a tropical getaway

China Glaze Blue Island Iced Tea has been staring at me from
my untrieds, so I decided I needed to wear it.
Application was perfect, 3 coats for the sake of my OCD, smooth, no brush marks, very forgiving and it shines like it's name. I had to add a little freehand nail art using Stripe rite black because I'm just in the mood for nail art lately.
The nail art kind of makes me think of snow falling at night past a barren tree, slightly omonise but I'm loving it a lot.

Recycled manicure

China glaze Recycle is the perfect medium gray creme.

Origionaly I was going to Konad over it but this color is simply perfect so I decided to keep it simple and added some of my favorite little decals.

Sorry my clean up was really bad on this one.

and with our recycled mulch, made from used tires how cool is that.

Coffin Manicure??

Some people are calling this the Louboutin mani but I must argue that.
First this style of mani was around in the 40's before this lovely shoe.

I was not about to file my strong healthy nails into points for the sake of style, because well I couldn't care less about "fashion" or labels and I'm definitly not a designer kind of girl.
I did my version which reminds me of a beautiful old coffin. (Did I mention my love of coffins?)

We are lacking sunshine today so my pictures are not as good as I would have hoped.

It's so hard to get a picture that really captures both sides.

Oh look at that shrinkage...someone needs to thin their Seche Vite.

I used China Glaze Xtreme Thrash for the underside and Wet n wild black for the top.
I warn any who want to attempt this one that you will want to have a stiff brush and acetone handy as clean up is an absolute. But worth it in my opinion.
There is nothing better than an interesting Vampy manicure!

Nameless Unicorn Konad and Mail box goodies

After 4 or so hours of helping my MIL with major yard work
I was too worn out to do a fresh mani so I decided to spruce up my China Glaze Classic Chromes that has no label so no name. First I added a very thin dry brushing of an un named Sally girl lilac holographic polish. (You see where I'm going with the nameless thing)
Then I stamped them with Konad Image plate m28 using Konad special polish in Dark purple.

This reminds me of the 1970-80's 7th grade girl with the Unicorn covered room.
Well it was fun and entertaining for a while.

Then this afternoon the Mail Lady brought me a box...
Who is it from? One of my e-BFF's Jess! YAY! What's inside?

Who are those beautiful ladies all lined up?

(I didn't take an up the skirt picture of the glitter Toma because she lost her label)
Thank You my Sweet friend Jess! You are the Beez Kneez! xoxox
Now I have to decide what to wear...random.org here I come! =P

Halloween bling and cosmetic recipe

I have to share this lovely Franken from the amazingly talented wixbetty of Wixology blog.
She made me this blingy Halloween glitter a couple of months ago and have been dying to try it.
It's a clear base with a ton of orange glitter and two sizes of silvery lilac hex glitter.

I love this! Thank You wixbetty!

Now for some DIY fun!
This is a recipe for a cosmetic fixative (aka mixing medium).
I suppose I could package and sell this but I think that is just greedy and bad buisness, so instead
I want to share it with my Lovies.
This can be used in so many ways: as a spray to give the dewy look,
as a mixing medium to foil your eye shadow, misted on your makeup brush to help your eye shadow
"stick" better, or as an after shower light moisture.

You will need:
A small 4oz spray or squirty bottle
measuring spoons
a funnel if you are at all clumsy(me)
Distilled water
Glycerine (you can get this at any drug store, Walmart, target etc.)
Vitamin E

in your bottle mix 3 Tablespoons Glycerin to 6 Tablespoons Distilled water
add 1/8 teaspoon Vitamin E
Close, shake and you are set!
You can use rose water if you like, I do not as I find it to be a little oily and can cause smearing.

See why I think it's crappy to package and sell this?
It costs less than $1 to make a 4oz bottle and companies charge between $8 and $30 for this.

Good Lovies! xoxox

A sad Konad attempt and a fun eye look

Hello my lovies! Sorry I'm so late to post today.
I was feeling a little goofy today and so I played with my new Konad goodies from wowsocool.
I wanted to do a cool fishnet french mani but as you know my nails are a little on the long side and the full nail images are far from long enough so creative design came into play. I need to work on my placement and practice a bit but all in all I like it!

I used OPI I'm Not really a waitress as my base color. Plate m57 with Special polish in silver for the fishnet and WnW black for the lace and freehanded tips.
Not bad for a first try.

Now I started plating with eye shadow this evening....cuz well that's what I do!

Ummmm...someone had a little bit of a shaky hand after way too much coffee!

Oh looky there's mu nose....I love my nose! Oh incase you hadn't figured it out...I'm a little weird!

I love my Full 'n soft mascara

Deep set eyes kind of suck because when you open your eye your eye shadow disapears! :(

Yeah I'm not wearing ANY makeup except for my eyes so pardon the rest of my face.

Here is what I used:
MAC Parfait Amour on lid
Evil Shades Abyss on Crease and just above
Evil Shades Devils Bonfire to highlight the web and add sparklies
Silver glitter for inner corner
Palladio Liquid liner in Black on upper lash line and to draw the web.
Urban Decay 24/7 in Lust on lower lash line
Maybelline Full 'n Soft Mascara in Black

So now you know that I love fishnet and spiderwebs and crazy things happen when I get bored and drink too much coffee!

P.S. I still hate MAC this e/s blows it took forever to build any color and the pigmentation is far below the quality of many less expensive brands. I only keep this one because it was a gift. This is not a ploy to sell my Evil Shades. Seriously E.L.F. has better pigmentation than a lot of MAC e/s...save yourself some money and get HIP or Rimmel or any of a ton of small cosmetic companies that don't over charge you for a label!
Sorry, end Rant!

I has Dragon Pee!

With all of the hoopla about Clarins 230
aka Unicorn pee, I thought it only appropriate to knock that High falutin' Unicorn down a notch.
I present to you for your drooling pleasure Liquid Euphoria - Bliss aka Dragon Pee!

I could not fully capture this mighty beast on camera. It is a lovely deep vampy purple (not at all black) with beautiful shimmer that shifts from red to green to gold. It reminds me of Dragon scales ergo Dragon pee being it's knickname. You can see the green and gold flash on the left side of the bottle.

Purple with red shimmer. mmmmmm......

This was a very generous gift from one of my e-BFF's Jessica, she rocks and she is the sweetest lady ever! ((hugs)) for my Dear Lovie Jessica!

Oh and as promised I got pictures of the skull necklace in sunlight so you can see him in his holo glory.

Color Club Revvvolution is such a great color!

Oh and a new pretty that I just finished:

My Corset heart necklace!

Red Vampy heart wearing a sexy Black with red glitter Corset, tied up with Silver glitter!
And after a little proding and some minor whinning, I am going to carry these on my website along with some other designs that I'm working on.

OPI Russian Navy Suede with glossy tips

I got this gorgeous color in a swap and I could not decide if I wanted to wear it Suede or Glossy
so I saidEf it, I'll do both! So this is 1 coat of Sally Hansen Nail Quencher, 1 coat of OPI Russian Navy Suede and 1 coat of Seche Vite on the tips.

Sorry for the lovely yellow skin, but we are into indoor picture weather.

Sorry my "french" tips are a bit wonky but I'm sick so I'm just please to be able to do a fresh mani!
I think I need the rest of the Suedes now. They apply so smooth and easily. It dries super fast and only needs 1 coat to be opaque! Now if there were only a red! Hint OPI big flaming friggin' hint!
