Following your heart

Sometimes you have to follow what you know in your heart is best for you....
even when it's hard and it hurts and it means ending a friendship!
Sometimes you have to step away from emotions and look sincerely at things and
sometimes that means removing people from your life for your own wellbeing.

I don't think I am an unkind person...at least I try very hard to be kind, tolerant, forgiving, openminded and accepting. I am more than willing to listen to different views, ideals and opinions I encourage it actually.
But I cannot promise not to ever disagree or even at times when passionate about something...even debate it.

I try to be a good friend. I will bendover backward to help anyone and never do I ask or expect anything in return. I try to offer an ear when needed, a shoulder, advice if asked, or the shirt off my back. I am human and I do make mistakes from time to time, but I will admit to them, accept responsibility and apologize.

Sometimes love and friendship is not enough.
Occasionally a relationship is just toxic and you have to walk away.
This is a hard day, a sad day....but I know in my heart it is what is best for me.

Sometimes being a friend just sucks!

  4. Thanks for these inspirational words. I was in a toxic relationship for a long time, and even though it hurt being with the person it felt harder to walk away. When I finally did it hurt too, but now a couple years later I know it was the best thing I could have ever done.

Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone.

I wish you the best and hope that you will heal quickly

Life goes on, we live, we learn and we keep becoming...more ourselves.
Sorry you're hurting, hope it passes quickly for you and that the removal of the toxic relationship opens the door to 5 healthy relationships.

  6. Knowing when it's time to walk away is one of the biggest things we can do. As much as it sucks or hurts, at least you are open to the knowledge of what you have to do. Good luck!

  9. I feel so bad for you.  You can only do so much.  I think you've done plenty according to your post.  We all grow older and change.  Some just don't change.  Relationships to get toxic and you have to just walk away.  You must really be hurting.  I was wondering why you were so down.  Friends mean so much and it's hard to let one go.  Make it a clean break and get on with your life with your handsome hubby and beautiful kids.  God bless you.  Love you.

  10. Heh... I understand that...
I've been through this kind of situation so many times...so many disappointments when it comes to friendship.

Worry not, it may make you sad, but in the end. It was for the best :*

  11. Echoing what the other ladies are saying - you are the sweetest lady I know and you have a huge heart. I am so sorry you are hurting, and if there's anything I can do I am here for you. I'll send you my number. Even if it's just to listen or whatever. Love you loads.

I can empathize with you. Years ago I had to end a friendship that really meant a lot to me. I can look back and say I did the right thing for my well being, even though it was very tough at the time.

There can come a point when it's time to recognize even if the friendship had a good run and there was a lot to be grateful for, it doesn't always mean it can continue into the future. xoxo!

  13. Wow...I was having the exact same discussion a few minutes ago :( I've also had to re-address some of the toxic friendships that I have had for a few years.  It hurts, but after a while, I guess you realise that it was for the better.  Feel better ;)

  15. I think you are a fantastic person, and know what you are going through. I have ended toxic relationships in the past, and have not regretted it. I sometimes get wistful about what could have been, but I know it was a good decision in the end. Lots of hugs and feel better.

  25. Aww..  I can only imagine what ur going thru. I think at the end of the day, sometimes it IS ok to be selfish and look out for U. Specially if the other person isn't.. There is only so much a friendship or relationship can take, and if it's mostly influencing u negatively or making u feel more sad, then happy... it's time to walk away.
I have had a few one sided friendships, and walking away was the best thing even though it really sucked.

  26. oh sweetie, this must be so hard for you,  as you like to "fix" everyone.  don't forget when you are sad, to jump on twitter and we will cheer you up!

  27. I definitely agree with you. Don't feel sad everything is going to be just fine. I ended a toxic relationship, I loved someone who wasn't faithful to me but also back then he wanted to have me and I loved him so much. But I ended it, I was alone so long and I was so hurt for almost two years and now I'm happily engaged with the man that I've been searching whole my life. So cheer up, everything is going to be just fine, look for your happiness and be selfish :) .
