The China Glaze Fall 2010 Vintage Vixen Collection as described by China Glaze:
CHINA GLAZE GOES RETRO GLAM FOR FALL 2010 COLLECTION
Sultry Fall Colors Entice The Fashionable Palette
For Fall 2010, the China Glaze Vintage Vixen Collection captures the vivid and saturated hues of the 1940’s with this seductively complex palette. These classic shades of the season recreate the timeless tableau of movie land mystique, perfect red pouts and steamy nights where swing was the scene!
Step out with these multi-faceted jewel tones, rich reds, titillating taupes and smoldering sands. This collection deliverers a high octane 40’s era glamour with a sophisticated edge!
I have to agree on the rich tones and sexy 40's style glamour
(All swatches are 2 coats no top or base, taken in natural light)
Ingrid is a Greyed taupey (yes I get to make up words) with copper micro glitter.
If you are a lover of Greige you need this! I am not one to love neutrals or earthy shades at all but I will even admit that this really is a lovely color.
Classic Camel is well a tan/camel beige with gold micro glitter.
This is my least favorite of the collection. It just doesn't thrill me but as I said I'm not one to love these kinds of shades. If you like neautrals with a kick then you may just love this one.
Foxy is sooooo Foxeh!
This one is more my speed, a lush burgundy with mega shimmer.
This one is worthy of coating the tips of Lana Turner.
Swing Baby is a taupish metallic, micro glitter.
Shiny...oh sorry, I got distracted. This one is a little on the shear side, I think a 3rd coat my solve that.
Hey Doll is a rose toned deep mauve with gorgeous shimmer.
I was surprised at how much I like this one. Very opaque.
First Class Ticket Blurple hotness with mega shimmer!
This one is my favorite...I think....I can't decide.
Jitterbug is a nice gunmetal metallic. Nothing extrodinary with all of the Silver metallics out lately though this one is more on the gunmetal side so I do prefer it over the others. I think Jitterbug is more versatile than a plain silver metallic, a little edgier, sexier in my opinion.
Goin' My Way? is a medium brown with copper shimmer.
Very rich color and the contrast with the copper makes this more interesting if you are a fan of browns.
Riveter Rouge Sassy red with rivets of silver glitter scattered throughout.
The "real" Rosie the Riveter, Rose Will Monroe, would be the first to call this one hotness!
Midnight Mission a sweet Navy blue with tons of silver micro shimmer.
I love this shade of blue and the silver makes it look almost metallic in sunshine.
Emerald Fitzgerald is a rich forest green with micro shimmer.
A very pretty green is you are in need....and who doesn't need a sexy green?!
Bogie is another favorite for me, a deep jewel tone plum with shimmer.
My thoughts on this collection:
I am glad to see some more interesting Fall shades not just a bunch of vampy reds, though you know I love my Vampy reds! The Vintage Vixen collection has a really nice variety, a something for everyone collection. I love the deep jewel tones and interesting shimmers/glitters.
The formula's were all very nice, China Glaze's usual easy to work with formula.
Most are opaque in 1-2 coats.
So which colors are you most looking forward to?
