I have had tons of requests to do a tutorial on how to do a silk wrap to repair a split or tear.
So I got the crazy idea to do a video tutorial, well now you are stuck watching me stumble over my words and talk with my hands. I'm sorry it's a bit suckage but it's my first so be kind please.
It's in 2 part because youtube is an Asshat and it's 10 seconds too long together. :P
Part 1
Part 2
If you have any suggestions for future tutorials and such leave a comment or email me!
Nice job, this is helpful!
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial! You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteWow- that was very well done! Not that I would need a wrap with my acrylics, but informative none the less.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing your nails in "action" and hearing your voice. (I don't know what made me think you would sound high pitched and girl-y.)
You definitely have a great voice for YT tutorials- rich and mature with a warm Southern accent sneaking in every-so-often.
Out of curiosity, and because I've never seen or handled a silk wrap...
Does it have a grain like fabric...warp and weft?
For some reason most people expect me to have a high voice and to talk fast. But no I have a soprano/high alto singing voice but my speaking voice is much like my Ni'a and sloww and mid tone. The slight southern drawl is Chris' fault, I think I've accidently picked it up over the years, since I was born and raised in the far North. lol
ReplyDeleteSilk wraps have a texture similar to a very fine ribbon. There is a very tight weft that can barly be felt.
Awww thank you, I was nervous. I am not one to be infront of the camera.
ReplyDeleteI hope you never need it but if you do, I hope it is helpfull. :)
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED LOVED LOVED this!!!
it was WONDERFUL to be able to hear your voice!!!
Seeing that silk wraps are so easy (i tried once before and it didnt work out so well!) I may just take my acrylics off once my nails get a bit of length and try wraps to reinforce my weak sad nails! It would be nice to not always worry abotu these stupid things!
Thank you so much hun!!!
Please do more! Don't care what about, just wanna get to hear you again! :) :-D
I'm going to have to watch these when I get home (from work)! Every time I do a silk wrap patch I feel like I do a little better =) I did a step by step with just pics a while ago - like almost a year I think - but it's always nicer to see everything in motion =)
ReplyDeleteLet me know what you think!
ReplyDeleteI promise to do more. I just don't know on what.lol
ReplyDeleteSilk wraps are not hard once you get the idea and proper tools. seriously, the precut make it sooooo much easier
Great job! I'll have to get some silk wraps and try this :D
ReplyDeleteExcellent tutorial, you covered every detail and made it all easily understandable. For future tutorials I think you should do one on how you paint your nails because you're genius at it. :*
ReplyDeleteawesome job babe! you haz the hottest nails!
ReplyDeleteSmooches!
ReplyDeleteThank You and great idea!
ReplyDeleteI promise it's very easy
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm one of the asshats that asked for one. :-D
ReplyDeleteYou are not an Asshat! You are one of my dear Lovies! ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope the tutorial is helpfull!

ReplyDeleteDear Evil Angel , thank you for share this with us, and make this ''great tutorial" I love it!!

This is a great tutorial, thank you so much for doing it!
ReplyDeleteOooh, now I know the Evil Angel Miss Nono has more than just sexy nails- she also has the sexiest voice! O.o ;) :9 And not least, a great tutorial! I watched it with much interest, even though I have made my own repairs (from teabags!). There's always room for more learning! <3
ReplyDeletePS. You know what I do if I notice the beginning of a split in my nailbed? I carve that very piece of the nail out with the sharp side of a cuticle trimmer! O.o xD
ReplyDeleteWow, this was so fascinating! I've learnt a lot from this tutorial. Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this tutorial! I just did my first slik wrap today after seeing this
ReplyDeleteOh hell yeah, I LOVE your tutorial and your voice! This was very helpful, you answered questions I was going to ask at the end! Great job sweetie. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteYay! It doesn't suck! :-D
ReplyDeleteWooohoo! How did it go?
ReplyDelete=-O
ReplyDelete:* I tried tea bags but they never held for longenough on me
ReplyDeleteYou all deserve to be spoiled! hugs
ReplyDelete:-[ I had a hard time trying to talk fast enough. lol
ReplyDeleteYou're awesome and I love your voice. Nice job!
ReplyDeletenot bad. It looked pretty good for a day and then I started to see the crack coming through so I cut a small rectangle and reinforced right over the crack and so far so good.
ReplyDeleteOMG, can't believe I didn't comment yet. I was watching this the other day and I was soooooo happy you uploaded this. First of all: this is my first time seeing how this silk wraps work. =) Fun! And secondly: I imagined your voice to be so different... I guess I left out the fact you're a smoker. You are a smoker, right? And I have to say I absolutely LOVE your voice. I'd like to listen to bedtime stories (or BlackFoot stories) from you. Love, love, love this post! :*
ReplyDeleteThank You Lovie! Yes I am a smoker but the funny thing is that my voice sounds exactly the same as the recordings done when I was 13 and 14 and didn't smoke. lol
ReplyDeleteI think the many years at my Grandfathers knee I learned to speak slowly and in a certain tone. Chris calls it the soothing voice.
I had such an aweful time trying to talk fast enough in the video. :-P
OMG! Where have you been all of my life. Thanks for doing this..you make it look super easy!
ReplyDeleteohhh what a nice voice... thanks for sharing this.. i had a broken nails ans made a post for a help and most of my comment recommend ur tutorial... wow!! this sis great!! btw, whats the name of the glue u used on this? pls email me hanniz017 at yahoo dot com xoxo thanks a lot :*
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for doing these videos. I'd never tried using the silk wraps before to mend a nail so your video was a lifesaver.
ReplyDeleteI recently removed my gel nails and my real nails beneath suffered some damage (although not as bad as acrylic) and the pinky had a tear in the side. I decided to try your silk wrap method instead of cutting if off. I am happy to say that this is week 2 and the nail is still in perfect shape.
Thanks again!
